Caleb Thorn, Callsign Tinker, is a salvager for the Grubs Alliance. He was a crew member of the Reclaimer Ship, The Venture, for 10 years before he finally was able to pay off his debt to the company and earn his own Reclaimer ship The Starfall. 

Tinker is very handy at crafting, repairing, repurposing, and modifying equipment and technology. A scavenger by trade, Caleb decided to invest his money in an S-series Utility Bot. He got the Bot at a huge discount from a trader that frequented the Grubs Alliance Chapterhouse at Mudd Station in the Mobius Crossing Sector of the Forge.

Rodney, S-series Utility Bot, is a helpful companion to Tinker. He is proficient in many areas of Salvaging and his expertise has come in handy many times over for Tinker. Rodney likes to watch old films from the 1970s and 80's while on long voyages and usually copies the theme of the show into his personality. 

He tells Tinker that something must be wrong with his identity programming. Tinker has spent many long hours and a ton of credits trying to fix the malfunctioning program but to no end. 

The truth is, there is nothing wrong with Rodney's programming. He just does it to annoy Tinker.
